WHAT IS –
FIBRE REINFORCED CONCRETE?
Fibre Reinforced Concrete is a mixture of materials consisting of cement, sand, aggregates like ordinary concrete, but enhanced with uniformly dispersed poly fibres.
Fibermesh® concrete fibre blends are a combination of micro synthetic fibres. The resulting product renders the best possible solution to concrete’s natural flaws throughout its life span. Microfibers surpass at controlling cracks in the early stage, while fibres provide exceptional crack control in increased load-bearing conditions. With blended fibres, you get both benefits in one mix.
A1 Adelaide Concrete use Sika Fibremesh® when possible saving time in preparation and is hugely beneficial when pouring steep driveways, often removing the need for concrete pumps. A1 Adelaide Concrete like to use fibre reinforced concrete for new build homes. Having no traditional concrete to match, allows A1 Adelaide Concrete, to saw cut the control joints, as you would with exposed aggregate. With no tool joints or highlights, this method gives a contemporary, seamless appearance. Only with standard and cloured concrete jobs, do we will use fibres.
A1 Adelaide Concrete has used fibre reinforced concrete on multiple driveways though the foothills of Adelaide and have produced outstanding results.
